AUCTION REPORT
Our 22nd Annual Boat Auction was a big success, and thanks goes to all the volunteers, boat buyers, and boat donors that helped make it happen. Nearly $30,000 was raised from the sale of 65 boats. MHA Office Manager Kelly Roberts-Curtis deserves a special thanks for her dedication to making this Auction a success.

LET'S GO SAILING!

Starting in June, the MHA fleet will be going sailing, and you are invited! Many a Sunday this summer, WELCOME, GRACIE L, and our Herreshoff 28 "ARCTUROS" will be sailing from 1 pm until 4 pm. MHA members are encouraged to call the office to sign up for an afternoon of sailing and camaraderie on the Bay.
THANKS TO CHARTER
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Charter Cable for airing our new Auction commercial free of charge. It is this sort of generosity that helps MHA to carry out our mission and serve the community.
RESTORATION SHOP UPDATE
Construction continues on our new facility for the MHA Restoration Shop youth mentoring program and community woodshop. Concrete footings for the required firewalls have been poured, and soon the plumbing and in-floor heat piping will be going in. We will know in early June the status of a Rotary Charities capital grant request to assist with the construction of this unique facility. Please feel free to contact our Executive Director Mark Thompson for more information, and how you might get involved.

COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
With the completion of our 3-year strategic plan, the MHA Board has identified several committees that need to be established in order to better run our organization. We are looking for volunteers that are interested in serving on a Marketing Communications Committee, a Fundraising and Development Committee, and an Education Committee. If you have an interest or experience in any of these areas and would be willing to spend a few hours each month, please contact Mark directly at 231-645-1625.
MADELINE UPDATE - click HERE to follow the Record-Eagle Blog of he journey
MADELINE will be busy in June with crew training sails and preparations for her June 19 departure. She will be attending Festivals in Port Huron, Munising and Duluth, among other stops. Members on shore can email MADELINE while she travels at Madeline@MaritimeHeritageAlliance.org., and we will be posting a blog on the Record-Eagle website for our community to hear some tales from the high seas. Video footage from the trip will also be collected for a future DVD of her journey.

"ARCTUROS" gets third place!
With rookie crew Marc Fox and his wife Kim pulling the lines, our lovely 1947 Herreshoff 28 "ARCTUROS" got third place in the GTYC Wednesday night race on June 11. Many yacht club racers are excited to see the old girl out there, looking good and sailing fast.
